WHEN TO SOW
August to October.
Where to Sow
Sow thinly in a prepared seedbed 0.5cm (1/4in) deep in rows 25-30cm (10-12in) apart.
What to do next
Gradually thin seedlings to 15cm (6in) apart, picking the young leaves as baby salad leaves. Alternatively, leave plants till fully mature and the cut whole plant. Plants will benefit from cloche protection through the winter to prolong the harvest period.
