Short description

A naturally occurring soil conditioner, Calcified Seaweed is a red seaweed which grows on the seabed in a coral-like structure.

Once applied to soil, Calcified Seaweed quickly breaks down and gradually releases calcium, magnesium carbonate and other trace elements.

Calcified Seaweed:

  • Breaks down heavy soil
  • Improves soil structure
  • Long-lasting, apply once every three years.

As Calcified Seaweed starts to break down, it sweetens the soil with an increase in microbial activity.  It is this activity which helps plants and crops to develop stronger roots, promoting vigorous plant growth.

Organic, Calcified Seaweed will last in the soil for a longer period than finely ground lime leading to a gradual, prolonged effect on a soil’s pH.

Rich in minerals, it neutralises acidic soil and can also be used to dress lawns in early spring to improve soil and grass conditions.

To apply to the soil, spread over the desired area and lightly rake or hoe in.

We only operate in a select area of East & West Sussex​ and are unable to send items across the UK.

Placing an Online Order with Goldcliff Garden Centre

Once you have added your items to the basket you can continue to secure checkout and make payments via credit or debit card. All payments are processed via Apple Pay, Google Pay, Credit Card, Debit Card and PayPal.

Click and Collect

We offer a click-and-collect service for those who would like to collect from us directly. Collection times are between 8:30am and 6pm 7 days a week.

We ask you to have a copy of your order confirmation to hand, either printed or on a mobile device.

Please do not come to collect your order unless you have received a ‘ready to be collected’ email as it may not be ready immediately. We strive to get all click and collect orders together within 2 hours but sometimes this is not possible.

Local Deliveries

Local Deliveries are sent out on a first-come-first-served basis. There is no minimum order, but there is a fee for all orders that start at £10 and increase as you get further away from our centre. 

We offer curbside/driveway drop-off only. 

Additional charges may apply for large or heavy items.
